done the same calculations and reached the exact same conclusion as Dr. Heine
A microbiologist who supervised the work of accused anthrax killer Bruce E.
Ivins explained to a National Academy of Sciences panel Thursday why the
arithmetic of growing anthrax didn't add up to Ivins' mailing deadly spores in
fall 2001.
"Impossible," said Dr. Henry S. Heine of a
scenario in which Ivins, another civilian microbiologist working for the Army,
allegedly prepared the anthrax spores at an Army lab at Fort Detrick. Heine told
the 16-member panel that Ivins would have had to grow as many as 10 trillion
spores, an astronomical amount that couldn't have gone unnoticed by his
colleagues.
According to FBI calculations, Ivins accomplished
this working after-hours in a special suite for handling lethal agents
designated B3, for Biohazard Level 3. A

August and September 2001, the months immediately before the first anthrax
letters were mailed, Ivins logged 34 more hours in the B3 suite than his
combined total for the previous seven months.

short of what he would have needed to grow the anthrax," Heine told ProPublica

Three sections of the Act were due to "sunset" -
expire, unless reauthorized - on December 31 of last year. Congress must amend
those sections that have been found unconstitutional or have been abused to
collect information on innocent people. The House of Representatives passed
legislation, but the Senate Judiciary Committee was unable to agree on language
and voted to temporarily extend consideration until next month. ...
The New York Times lead editorial gives false comfort to American citizens by
assuring them that they will not be victims of George W. Bush’s new draconian
system for prosecuting enemies of the U.S. government in military tribunals
outside constitutional protections.
“This law does not apply to American citizens,” the Times editorial stated,
“but it does apply to other legal United States residents. And it chips away at
the foundations of the judicial system in ways that all Americans should find

that some parts of the

Commissions Act of 2006 target non-citizens, other sections clearly apply to
U.S. citizens as well, putting citizens inside the same tribunal system with

based on previous Darpa-funded efforts. One project, at Stanford University,

one day mimic the hibernation abilities of squirrels — who emerge from
winter months no worse for wear — using a pancreatic enzyme we have in common
with the critters. The other, led by Dr. Mark Roth at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer
Research Center, used nematode worms and rats to

hydrogen sulfide could block the body’s ability to use oxygen — creating a

OKLAHOMA CITY – Long-secret security tapes showing the chaos immediately
after the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building are blank in the
minutes before the blast and appear to have been edited, an attorney who
obtained the recordings said Sunday.
"The real story is what's missing," said Jesse Trentadue, a Salt Lake City
attorney who obtained the recordings through the federal Freedom of Information
Act as part of an unofficial inquiry he is conducting into the April 19, 1995,
bombing that killed 168 people and injured hundreds more.
Trentadue gave copies of the tapes to The Oklahoman newspaper, which posted
them online and provided copies to The Associated Press.

The European Union is spending tens of millions of euros on an artificial
intelligence system known as “Project Indect,” which would draw from multiple
data sources, namely public surveillance cameras, in order to detect “threats”
and recognize “abnormal behavior” across the whole continent.
According to
the project’s Web site,
once completed, Project Indect would even be able to track vehicles as a type of
support network for EU police officers.
Perhaps more chilling,
the project promises “continuous monitoring” of “web sites, discussion
forums, usenet groups, file servers, p2p networks [and] individual computer
systems”.

So let's get this straight... arguably the most significant
moment in mankind's history, recorded on countless hours and hours of
videotape, was somehow errantly erased and then recorded over? Seriously? Days
and days of tapes, all accidentally recorded over?
To claim that just one out of the vast number of recorded
tapes was accidentally taken and recorded over is a stretch in itself. These
archive films would more than likely have been significantly marked and stored in a place of high
security. To say that they were easily accessible and not well marked is
a seemingly disingenuous excuse, if not possibly just a bald faced lie. For some
inept NASA employee to just stumble into this secure archive and naively take a
film from this historic collection is a stretch in itself, but to claim that
they took all of the video and erased it and then recorded over it is
highly questionable and quite unbelievable.
Again, the most significant moment in mankind's history,
cavalierly destroyed with no safeguards in place to prevent its destruction.
